I need a visa for China, Vietnam, Burhma, and Russia. I have already left my home country (the USA). What's the best way to get visas for them? Are there online agencies that I can pay, without requiring me to mail them anything?

How about travel agencies? What is their turnaround time? I'm currently in Australia and will probably go to Singapore or the Philippines soon... should I go to a travel agency while in Brisbane or should I try to find an agency in Asian countries?

Do a search on BNA as I know a few have posted getting Chinese vias's in Hong Kong.

Both Myanmar (Burma) & Vietnam I got at their embassies in Bangkok, Myanmar same day (a bit extra but less than cab fare to return), Vietnam the next day. Go to their sites to see what is needed, saves time getting pics & photocopies done while there.

As the countries require your passport, using an agency will not only increase the expense but you will be without your passport for a period of time.

Just find a passport photo shop & get extra pics as some other countries also require a photo for the VOA.

Getting visas on the road is part of the experience. Luckily SE Asia is so overrun with tourists, the procedures are easy. There are "travel agents" around Koa San Road in Bangkok, that can get visas quicker (and not much more expensive) than you could doing it yourself.

Your problem will be Russia. As a rule, it is impossible to get a Russian visa outside of your home country. This is even harder for Americans. You ONLY hope will be through Hong Kong.

Don't forget your invitation letter for Russia.
(and I can also confirm through personal experience that it is possible to get Russian visas in HK - or it used to be. Say spasibo and you'll make them happy!!)
