Helloooo!

So i'm off for 1 yr. RTW trip in January. BUT ladies i'm having a hard time deciding what to bring in my make-up bag. Everything from liner to face moisturizer! What's in your little bag of tricks and what's your favorite products?

it would be greatly appreciated!

For face moisturizer I use Olay´s Regenerist (something spelled similarily) Line, it´s a god-send and one pump expels just the perfect amount of product. I like Curel´s body lotion because it dries very fast, so if you need to get out of the shower quick and hit the road it works perfectly. The only makeup I brought with was lip gloss and blush, because I didn´t want to be bogged down by all that jazz.

this is a topic near and dear to my heart cause I loves me my eyeliner.

I took with me in my bag some foundation (by Benefit), powder compact, this cornsilk concoction used to counteract oilyness (made by Benefit), small mascara (sample size), a lipstick, and some rougey lip gloss that doubles as shiney blush.

I brought face sunscreen but not moisterizer cause we were in Asia mainly which is pretty humid.

In the end, I only used makeup once every 2 weeks or so, but I liked having it just in case I wanted to feminize up--I got a lil ragged at times and needed to feel like a girl once in a blue moon.

I'll tell you, in humidity all bets are off--the makeup just runs off your face. I don't know how the Thai girls manage to keep it on.

Hope that helps.

lipstick and mascara. Nothing else is important. Well, I mean, something with sunscreen in it, and for your lips, too, but really: lipstick and mascara. Unless you're one of those people with great lashes already - then just lipstick.

oh good.. I though I silly taking make-up with me!!
This is what I plan to take:
mascara
foundation - to use until I get a good tan going on Wink
eyeshadow - I'll probably take some because I know in India we'll be going out lots and I like havin it on when I do
eye-liner - same reason as above.

I figure I won't take actual moistureiser (I don't wear it now, either) but I'll take some body lotion that will double up as face-lotion.

I think's thats about it..
oh!!! and Lip balm... How could I fogget?? I swear by it!! Wink

I'm in the same mind set right now about moisurizer. i think i'll just use my sunscreen/body lotion instead.

the one thing i can't live with out is an eyelast curler (travel size -Sephora). i have straight lashes so just a pinch with the curler and away i go. and i'm going to bring water-proof mascara as well, no racoon eyes!

Lipsick also a must.

If you don't want to bring chapstick and lipstick consider a tinted lip moisturizer (Terra Tints is a good brand). Also, I think a little cheek rouge is a must (I like the Burt's Bees blush tins or you can just do the cheek pinch). If you don't want to bring foundation and/or powder, consider oil-blotting sheets to keep your skin fresh (yet again, Burt's Bees). If you're going with friends, consider bringing different items so that you can share (and use q-tips or cotton pads to keep them sanitary).

I also can't live without the sephora eyelash curler. But the darn things keep breaking on me. I've moved on to sheseido...I'd bring everything you want. Discard what you end up not using, and don't forget to go to local pharmacies - you can pick up new and cool stuff along the way.....

what about pads and 'pons? do you just stock up at home before leaving or you just use "fem products" from the country you are going to?

I stock up somewhat, then just buy as I need them. Never had a problem finding what I needed on the road. Except ibuprofen.

Tampons can be hard to find in Asian countries and when you do find them, they're generally in expensive department stores. Pads are everywhere and usually of the diaper variety.

I just had people bring me some when they came to visit or take other travelrs who were going home's supplies. You could also have them mailed to you as well- luckily tampons are light!

those OB tampons are really small and you can pack a lot of them into a zip lock.

here's another question I was pondering. How hard is it to get your hands on condoms? or should I bring a big zip lock bag full of those as well? hehehe i would love to see the look on the faces of the airport security guys when they find THAT bag Smile

hide some condoms in your folded socks. that way, you won't be embarrassed if the security guys pull them out, waving them in the air, showing your dad while he's waving good bye to you. Big Grin

Well it is a relief to know that i'm not the only girl thinking about this stuff.

i will definitely be taking my mac moisturising lip balm stick, it is a lip balm, it comes in different tinted shades and has SPF15 in it, and i will have to take a bit of blusher, eyeshadow, concealer and mascara, the best mascara ever is Kissme Mascara you don't need eye make-up remover to take it off, it comes off with a bit of water and a cloth or cottonwool pad so perfect for wearing in the evenings then just washing off at night, and to top all that off it is 100% smudge proof. i don't go anywhere with out it.

i also have to take my shampoo and conditioner, as i have waist length hair and it just gets in to a knotted mess if i don't wash it regularly.
