I am considering going to Goa in June, and have heard various things about what to expect there during that time. Hopefully some of you who have been there at that time can share some of your experiences with me.
Specifically:
What's the weather like? I know it will be hot, but I am more interested in knowing about the rain.
I know the monsoon is unpredictable, but does it tend to arrive in the beginning of June or toward the end of June in Goa?
Once the monsoon arrives, is it constant rain and cloudy skies for days or weeks straight? Or does it rain for a few days and then clear up for a few days? Or perhaps it rains every day for half the day, and the other half is clear? Haha, sorry for all these questions, I am just trying to get a sense of specifically what the rainy season is like there...
Second, I hear that time of year is the low season, and as such, the beaches are much less crowded, and hotels are cheaper. Is there a negative side to this? Such as half of the places being totally closed up for the season? Are things like the clubs, and restaurants and other places that cater to tourists still open that time of year?
Also, is there any difference between North and South Goa in terms of these things, or are they both affected about the same?
If any of you have been to Goa around June, I would love to know what your experience is with the things that I mentioned. Thanks!

It's hot and it rains. A lot. Whether it is intermittent or not depends on which part of the monsoon you catch. If you catch the rainiest part (usually in the middle of the season) you're looking at rain all day. That usually lasts for a week or so with the other weeks around it being intermittent rain.
If you haven't seen the monsoon before and you like just sitting in one place... then it is actually a somewhat pleasant experience.

You should still see some tourists - Goa doesn't really shut down but gets much quieter. The clubs and restaurants are open pretty much throughout the year although there are fewer acts playing.
Oh yeah... the locals will sometime shut shop for siestas. This happens more often during the off season.

They are right next to each other. Weather is the same.
Personally, I've been to Goa twice during the rainy season. The rain brings a beauty of it's own to the coast. Especially the less spoiled areas farther away from Goa.
