Grand Bahamas

My husband's company is having their annual retreat in Freeport so we are using it as out vacation, too (adding on days). Typically, we prefer low key, out of the way places. (I wanted to go to Central America, but the husband said no since I'm pregnant.) For the retreat, we will be staying at the Westin (4 days). The rest of the time (5-6 days), I want to stay somewhere remote and closer to the locals. Does anyone know of a great place to stay/rent on Grand Bahama?

I found a great looking place on an outer island, but here's the catch - I'll be 6.5 months pregnant so I don't really want to island hop. I might be up for it if we don't have to stop in Nassau (seems like Nassau is the island hub).
