Hair Falling Out

We've been in South Asia for about a month and a half and I'm finding I'm losing a ton of hair. I have long, thick hair and I haven't noticed any bald spots, so it must be falling out evenly, but I've definitely noticed that it's gotten thinner. Could this be because of the heat or the diet. Has anyone else experienced this when traveling in a hot country?

My immediate thoughts were both heat and/or diet.
This could just be the result of transitioning from a cold to hot climate. Kind of like the way animals moult off their winter coat in spring... I know I definitely shed hair when I'm in hotter climates.

However, if you think it's something more than this, the first thing I would do is examine your diet. It can be hard to eat a balanced diet when you're travelling - especially to get enough fresh fruit and vege. If you're not already it might be worth taking in a multi-vitamin for the duration of your trip. Depending where you are now, there are branches of Boots in most major SEA cities if you want to buy a brand you know you can trust.

I'm sure this quite scary for you, if vitamins don't seem to heap and it continues, go see a doctor - this is what travel insurance is for!
