Has anyone flown on Taca?

Postby Haci Richard » September 26th, 2006

I'm planning a trip to Nicaragua in December and have found that flights on Taca seem quite a bit cheaper than anyone else? Does anyone have any experience with this airline?

I flew TACA in and out of El Salvador. A pretty uneventful trip....which is good.

I fly TACA whenever possible. They are always pleasant, mostly on-time (so far) and have reasonable prices. They go to most of the places I need to go.

They do charge extra for food though Frown so make sure you have cash, a full stomach or a brown bag.

I just flew to Panama with them last week.

Also, in their 75+ years of operation they have never had an accident where a life was lost. I cannot back that up with a reference but I was told that.

Fly them to Costa quite a bit - don't charge extra for boards if you're nice.

Thanks everyone. Since no one had anything bad to say, we bought the tickets before the prices went up or sold out.

I flew TACA from Flores to Guatemala City and back. They were pleasant enough for me, although that was a domestic flight. I've never taken them internationally.

I've flown Taca twice, and was very happy (Miami to San Jose CR and San Jose to Guat City). I definitely recommend them, they are at least as good as an other airline I've flown and they are frequently cheaper. Where are you going in Nica? I recommend Granada, San Juan del Sur, and Ometepe. Happy travels!

I've flown Taca from Miami to San Salvador. The airline is the same as a normal major airline you'd find in the US. They are affiliated with American Airlines, so many time you may be put on a Taca flight from th US to central america. I would definitely fly with them again.
