Figure out the best place to stay on Khao San Road in Bangkok and where to escape when you've had enough of the mayhem. From Singapore Slings to the changes in Bejing after the 2008 Olympics, gab about it all here.

Hello Travis,

Thanks for your help! I want to get the Thai double entry visa at the Thai Embassy. Also I want the best transportation to Vientiane because coming here was a experience I don't want to go through again. I came with some locals in the back of a pickup truck I still getting over it. laugh

Hey DTM!

There is a VIP bus from VV to Veine. I ended up on a great ride, missed the VIP bus and got on a truck, it was all farangs, we drank beer, burned a few joints, played music, talked, joked, laughed! We stopped here and there, picked up some other passengers, overall had a great time!

Thing is, over there, things change quick. But just keep a smile and a good attitude, even the 'worst' ride will be fun and interesting!

The Thai embassy gets busy, I didn't go, but I walked past a few times, there was always a HUGE line. Your hotel will be able to tell ya when they open, go early. It's really a nice walk, not too far but goes through an interesting part of town even if for just a few blocks.

There is a great! french restaurant in Viene, it's on the 'circle' a park that has a fountain in the middle, anyway, ask and you'll find it, it's the smaller restaurant with an up stairs seating, it's run by a couple, french, and also photographers. Well worth every single penny, it's great!!

I think I ate at that French Restaurant -- it's called Le Cave something or other. I sprung $20 for a steak dinner there (with dessert and wine) and it was worth every penny!
