Brazil, Thailand)
First off. I know I got a messed up itinerary. The thing is I have until November to travel and I am going to all the places I have always wanted to visit before I ship off to the Navy.
Right now I am in Iceland. I spent 2 months in Portugal and 3 nights in London on my connection. I have no other tickets. Not even my ticket out of Iceland. Although I plan on leaving next week Monday. I have about 8,000 to spend.
A ticket to Bangkok will cost about $1,000. From Australia to Brazil looks like about $2,000. And from Brazil to LAX about $800. However, I am also considering visiting some cities in America like San Fransisco, Portland, and Seattle.
So you can see there is quite the dilemma. I think I may be a bit aggressive in my itinerary and definitely have to change something.
I was planning on going from Iceland to Bangkok and then to Australia. Spending 2 weeks or so in Thailand and a month in Australia. Then from there going to Brazil for 1 month. Then home.
I also was considering going off the beaten track and visiting East Timor. Big plus that I can practice my Portuguese. Problem is I can only fly there from Darwin or Denpasar Bali. And the airfare is quite expensive.
However, now I am considering cutting out Australia/South East Asia completely just because of airfare costs. I am considering going to Brazil for a month, maybe even more, and then maybe hitting a country or two in South America. Then a couple cities in Mexico before I hit the cities I mentioned in America.
Ultimately I really want to visit Brazil, Australia, and Thailand. I have already seen Western Europe. I am now considering a RTW ticket. I just hate the restrictions on dates and such.
Thanks!
