Honduran Tourism

Postby juan3 » October 22nd, 2009

The Global Travel Industry News has an article that states that the unrest in Honduras has caused a 70% decrease in tourism, which is the number one source of business income for the country. It is estimated that it will take 10 years for Honduras to recover financially from this decrease.

The article states that there are no problems for tourists at the two major attractions, Copan and the Bay Islands.

The big problem is the negative advisories from the U.S. and European embassies.

I took my 17 year old grandson to Copan last month, for several days. We had absolutely no problems and both had a ball.
