Hi, Bill, and welcome to the boards! This FAQ is a little outdated... Try Boards 101 and see if that works out for you. I'm adding this FAQ to my list of things to work on... Thanks for pointing it out!

Ciao,
Jessie

Hi, I'm having trouble posting new discussions. Whenever I hit the "post" button in the pop-up message screen, I get a message on the bottom of the window (in the status bar) that says error. I can reply using the "quick reply" option only. That's why I'm posting this message here, because I can't post new messages, only "quick reply" to existing discussions.

redleader- are you really from SL? That's where I grew up (and parents still live)

Sorry, off topic, but I don't know that I have ever seen SL up here and got all excited.

I put a link to my webpage on my signature. But I then noticed it says beside the box I need permission. So who do I ask to get permission?

Craze_boi,

Because some people come to Bootsnall only to sell their wares. Such people are usually kicked out unless they seek permission first and contribute to the community rather than just take from it. You website is not a problem.

I've just found this section. So here goes. I'd like to put a link thingy somewhere near my sig line. Craze_b0i has "My travel website".

Ideally, I'd like my link to go to a Youtube song. Is t his possible? How do I get a link there please?

BTW, should point out I can cut and paste, but otherwise I am technologically-challenged. Any instructions need to be spelled out in simple language. I am alas, a complete birdbrain when it comes to all things computers.

Can anyone help me with this please?
Thankyou.

I clicked on the link JessisS gave for Boards 101 and then realised I've done something wrong, because I asked my question in Chit-Chat before I asked it here and I forgot to delete it. Someone has posted there, so can't delete now.

My apologies.

Looks like you figured it out. It will take a bit of time for your signature to update across the boards. Feel free to PM me if you need further assistance.

Smile

Thanks AJV for that. I'm ashamed to say getting it "figured out" wasn't down to me. I had lots of help from two other Boots members - they were great. Smile

On the "Cocuntdown" thread, some people have pictures counting down the days until their next holiday. I've clicked on ticker factory. clicked on the picture I want but can't find instructions on what to do next. Can anybody help with this? Thanks.

Sorry, another question please. Reading the Boards 101 & Posting Guidelines," Don't advertise products/services/websites/etc. on the boards or in private messages."

Does directing an Op to say hostelz.com contravene this? And also if you or a friend own/run a hostel is it permissable to "give it a plug"?
Thanks.
