I'm in the process of trying to obtain funds for my Masters program in London. Besides going through the regular US channels (FAFSA) and looking for scholarships on the British Council US website, does anyone know of any other resources for funding studies abroad?

Anyone have any good web links they may want to share? Are there scholarships specifically for people who want to stud abroad?

Mike,

There is a small handful of scholarships for overseas students. I googled and found them online through various sites. There are some international student resources online that list scholarships and from that I think Datatel might do one and there is probably one from the Rotary Club.

If I had any energy at all, I would see if I could find the links for you. I didn't actually apply for any scholarships when I did a year overseas, but paid out of savings. How did I get the savings? I spend NOTHING on anything I didn't need, worked as much as I could, squatted in a hangar for 6 months to avoid paying rent and sold nearly everything I owned that had any value. You may want to try another route than this one Wink

Good luck with it. I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed for you!!!

There are Rotary International and Fullbright scholarships specifically for Americans studying overseas.

If you're going through an American school's study abroad program, you should be eligible for any financial aid or scholarships you would be eligible for if studying at home.

I believe in Britain, as a foreign student, you're allowed to work up to 20 hours a week, that could help in the costs aswell.
