How to get to Faro from Gibraltar

Postby Rens » July 24th, 2007

Hello all!

Need to get to Faro (or somewhere else along the Algarve) from Gibraltar (or Algeciras) this August. Does anybody know what would be the best way?

As I look at it now, it would be easiest to take a train from Algeciras to Sevilla and in Sevilla get on a bus to Faro. This little trip here would take us over twelve hours.

I think there should be a direct bus, but I cannot find it. I am having some trouble with the Spanish Eurolines website (www.eurolines.es), so that's not helping much.

Can anybody help me with the best possible connection? Thanks! Smile

I think that your current idea is probably the best. I wouldn't think there was a direct connection.

I made the trip in the opposite direction once (Olhao to Sevilla). There was a train on the Portuguese side that went to the border, which is a river at that point. Ferry across and then a bus direct to Sevilla. I don't remember the names of the border towns. If I can figure it out I'll post it.
