Woudn't make a lot of changes but the few I can think of are:
Stay in a private room instead of a dorm in hostels,
Book a room with a bathroom(luxury)
Use taxis more often and hire cars so we can get to those out of way places that the local bus doesn't go.

If money wasn't a problem what would you do different
2wanderers
Spend more time on the road. I think now that I've become somewhat comfortable with my life, I enjoy having a home base, and if money wasn't an issue, I'd probably take 2-3 month trips at a time, then chill at home for a month before heading off again. It would be a good life!
As it is, I count down for months to my 2-3 week break. (1.5 weeks to go!)
Having done the long trip thing, I'd like to try it again, but I don't know how much I'd change. Certainly the few locations where I was driven into dorm rooms for financial reasons wouldn't happen, and I'd never have to say "no" to once-in-a-lifetime experiences. And if there's an option for 1st class train seats, I'd probably take it (more often than not, though, I found that at least in Europe they'll only sell cattle class when you board at a small town station) But it turns out I'm very satisfied with my travel style, and don't see a lot that needs to be altered.

I would mix private rooms with dorms. I would do laundry more often in laundromats or something. Other than that, so far, I wouldn't trade a thing though.

Where are the options for penthouse suites and a private jet to fly you where you want to go?

I've gotten away from the long term travel bug and more into the living in different regions of the world and traveling the surrounding countries while there. That said, I'd likely set up a home base in 2 or 3 places across the continents. Spend anywhere from 3-6 months living in those places (following the seasons of course). And then while there split my time between climbing, skiing, etc and traveling amongst the surrounding countries. Every year I'd add a new region of the world to live and toss one of the ones I had been going to out.

Travel longer. I was one of those people who was limited more by the amount of time I had for my rtw (six months because I had to go back to start grad school) so towards the end it definitely became a "I'd rather spend this now than have it back at home" sense in terms of money! So I had a few private rooms (still stayed at the hostels because it was a great way to meet lone travelers), ate out more, and didn't mind shelling out for the bungy jump sort of thing. T'was nice, though rather melancholy when I realized I didn't need to pinch pennies anymore!

If money was no issue...hmmm...how great would that be.
More double rooms with bathrooms. I would do more tours and activities in each location. I would spend more time on islands and eat more seafood.

I'd rent houses and stay in each place for a month or longer. Then take day trips out from there, or maybe even a weekend away. It would be nice if the house I rent has fast wireless internet, a swimming pool, and a good blender. Oh, some lawn chairs would be nice too. Maybe it would be a place where I could walk to a fruit market and get fresh pineapples or mangoes, mmmm.
Or maybe I'd do a round the world trip where I alternated between inexpensive lodging and fancy resorts. So, that I could see both sides of each place.
Or maybe all that money would bring out the altruistic side of me and I would start a serious volunteer project in a part of the world that really needs it.
Hmmm. So hard to imagine money not being a limit...
