Jakarta?

Anyone on these boards live in Jakarta??

My hubby and I (Americans) have been living in Singapore for 3 years, and before that a year in HK.

I love living in Singapore. It's clean, beautiful, safe - a very high quality of living.

My hubby is considering a job in Jakarta, but as I've only been there once on a weekend, I would like to know more about life in JKT.

What do you like about living there? What don't you like about living there?

Indonesia is another state of mind. I was in Medan for two days, and it was certainly enough for me. Their large cities tend to be noisy, full of traffic, and chaotic. It's not like singapore or Malaysia at all.

Perhaps you should go to Jakarta for two weeks and scope it out. Talk to expats that live there and get the scoop.
