How do I keep tabs on a flight that it schedule weeks in advance?
With the airline passenger numbers failing dramatically, carriers are sure to be dropping flight routes and frequency. I don't exactly trust them to tell me so. Is there a site or whatever that would notify me promptly if a flight was dropped? Rescheduling things can be a pain in the ass and is best done before one tries to check in!

It depends on which airline you're trying to keep tabs on, but this (not free) site will do what you want and much more.

United recently served them with a 'cease and desist' order for mining and publishing data, which made them useless to me, but before that it was well worth the monthly fee. They have a free trial deal.

Re: Keeping tabs on flights months in advance
I have the airlines send me emails on the status of my flights. I don't know if that would work in your case if you're somewhere without email access, but I find it very helpful. It actually can get to be a little too much info on the day of the flight, especially for delayed flights, where I get an email everytime they move the flight out another 15 minutes. Still, it has come in handy for me.

When Oasis Airlines went under I found out HERE on Boots n All more than two days before the airline sent out a message to let all of us ticket holders know. I had enough time to book another flight before the other airlines got filled up with the hundreds of other stranded passengers or boosted their prices. Nice.

Re: Keeping tabs on flights months in advance
I think I jinxed myself with answering this thread!
On Saturday I got an email that one flight in June and two in August were rescheduled. The ones in August were ok, but the one in June made me have to leave earlier and I hate having flights before 9 in the morning. So, I called to try to change it, and first one agent disconnected me and then the other put me on hold for ever and never returned (I waited 30 minutes because I was doing something else while waiting, but after that i got hungry and gave up seeing how long I could really be on hold for).
Now I'm trying to find out a real email address for complaining to a VP in United, but apparently now all they want you to do is fill out some itsy bitsy stupid form and I'm not near as happy as I was before.
If you know how email addresses work at United, feel free to let me know. I have names but don't know how the email format will allow me to reach them. I hate that I may have to use snail mail to send my complaint.

For example:
glenn.tilton@united.com
I know United better than many of their CS reps. If you can provide more details, I may able to help more.
