Unfortunately I just bought a DSLR, but I still want to know if anyone uses the Leica X1 rangefinder or any of the M series Leica cameras?

Those are super sexy and I really want one. Anyone use them before?

I'm afraid I don't have the many thousands one needs for a complete Leica lens set.

Many don't, which is why they're the rolls royces of the camera world.

I understand that much. They are expensive, but I am certain it will be the next camera I buy... In 3 or more years. They are just so perfect in every way.

How about buying them grey market or at a discount from whatever country they are produced in?

I will have to do some research...

Disclaimer: I work in a camera store.

Don't get it. It's overpriced for what it is. Sure, it is a good camera, but you can get equally good cameras for much, much less without the looks or the Leica name.

Saying that, there isn't yet really anything that can match the M9 for both size, style and quality. But that is far more expensive than even the X1.

Most people that buy Leicas are collectors, not photographers.
