This may have been covered before, but I am curious what jobs other folks have taken up after they returned home from a big trip abroad. Also, did you make any huge life changes?
I just got back from 14 months away and have to make some decisions. Been living in Florida and now we're moving back north to Chicago. Excited about that. I work in video production but I feel like I want some change in career. Not sure what exactly, I love the industry, but I want to do something different within it. Not sure what I'll end up doing, it really depends on who hires me first.
Any big changes for others when they got back "home"?

Last time I went away for a year when I came back we decided to move cities in the UK with the idea of extending the adventure.
I stayed in the same type of job though - I work in mental health services.
This time my partner and I retrained as diving instructors and now do that. If we returned to the UK I'm not sure what we'd do.
I would like to go back to Uni and do something different perhaps.
Choices.

Living on Gili Air - a small island thousands of miles from home - running a small dive shop called Karang Divers http://www.karangdivers.com - want to come for a dive?

Im considering going back to classes as well. I just want something that provides me a beter feeling of personal accomplishment at the end of my day.
I saw Harvard and MIT are offering free classes online. Only a few, but I might try out one or two. You dont get a degree just a certificate, but it would be a free way to see if that is something I am interested in.
I think in the end, being away always make me come back thinking about changing course.
