After trying unsuccessfully to find a site that had a simple list of costs per country, I spent a couple hours this morning making my own. The numbers came from online versions of Lonely Planet and/or Let's Go. The numbers in parentheses are the lowest shoestring budget number listed and the highest midrange budget number listed. The final number is the average of the two budget extremes and equates roughly to high-end budget to low midrange. Occaisionally a guidebook would give a number for the type of travel I think I will most often do - 1-2 cheap to midrange meals out, sometimes getting a nicer room, a few drinks, admission to a couple of the pricier must dos, and occasionally taking a taxi vs walking or going up a grade on a bus/train. When it gave those numbers I used them vs doing the math myself.

Whew! After typing all of that out, I'm glad I didn't get around to the middle east or Caribbean (and that there was scant info on Africa).
Do these numbers seem right? I'm thinking some may be more mid-midrange than low midrange.

looks good to me! The range helps because in places like Thailand Vietnam, india you can really get by on very little money. The most money I seemed to spend in India was on accomodation...food and travel is insanely cheap...
Josh and Nicole aren't going anywhere for a while, but you can still read about their past trips herehttp://blogs.bootsnall.com/eppyboy
