Hi,
My name is Laura and I'm planning a RTW trip and would love to have the experience with someone who is as passionate about travel as I am. I've travelled to Belize, New Zealand, India, Turkey, Singapore, Italy, Costa Rica...I need to check my passport for the rest of my stamps. A lot of these places I've gone to alone but for this RTW experience, well I'd like to share it.

I'm easy going, don't mind the inconveinence that sometimes comes with travel, love to laugh...I am a good traveller and people like travelling with me. Problem is no one I know wants to travel RTW, no one I know wants travel off the beaten path. I'm in this for the adventure, meeting people, learning, experiencing the world...really it's a long list. It's been a dream my entire life. I hope you are out there...someone who has the same travel dreams.

Age does not matter. Female/male does not matter. All that matters is you can pay your own way and that your sense of adventure has not yet found its limit.
Let's go...

I just want to add to my post that I am looking to start my RTW adventure mid-2012. I'm considering doing WWOOFing (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms) part of the time to save money on food and lodging. It's a great way to immerse yourself in the culture.
Let's go...

Hey Laura,

I'm in the planning stages of a big trip starting May 2012 to ???
I'm wondering where you plan on going, or if you have much of an itinerary set up. I'm thinking I'll begin in Germany in May, and make my way to London, whether I have to fly from Poland or make my way overland still don't know. And I have to go to Morocco and Benin in June, July and the rest is up in the air! I'd like to get to Croatia, Jordan, Malaysia, Indonesia and Australia if I can. Depends on how much money I can save. I also plan on wwoofing maybe in Australia (where I hope to do a working holiday for a year), but couchsurfing all through Europe/Asia/Australia where ever I can. If any of this matches where you plan on being, I would definitely meet up and travel together!
I'm a 23 year old Canadian guy from a really small town (300 people!) I'm really easy-going and LOVE travel. I've been doing it on and off since High School and have been to 24 countries so far from Vanuatu to Sri Lanka to Guatemala to Togo to Iceland! All over the place. Still haven't hit South America, hoping to after Australia 2013...
If our timing/countries don't pan out, have an amazing trip!

Hi Ben2Africa,
Preliminary planning but nothing set in stone for me yet. May is my time frame also. Just got a call from some friends going to Belize and I thought hmmm maybe I will start in Belize.
After Belize I was thinking Peru, Chile and Argentina...then Austrailia and New Zealand. My son lives in Singapore (which is about a 3 hr flight from Austrailia) so I will stop there and have a free place to sleep and eat, then make my way around Asia. I think starting off in Europe will eat up funds too quickly, everything is very expensive there. I'd rather see as much as I can cheaply and save Europe for whatever is left after say about 10 months of travel. When I do get to Europe I will first stop in Turkey....love the history there. Then Amsterdam for sure and Croatia on my way back home I will stop in Iceland. All this is subject to change. I would love a travel companion that would appreciate doing their own thing when I want to do my own. No being attached at the hip just someone who enjoys the freedom of the road and has a great sense of adventure. Think about it.
Let's go...

hey Ben... can you give me some insight into Vanuatu? Is it expensive? can you get by on a budget? did you bounce around to different islands? I'm thinking of getting over there if I head out next year and would love some first hand info. (sorry laura for going OT).

I see this thread is a bit old just cropping up on 4 months old.

Its now March so I'm pretty sure you've already found a buddy whatnot and have decided where you're going already too. I see you have some traveling experience, so I'm curious as to why you're wanting to go at it duo (or more?) instead of solo?

I've already arrived in Europe, I thought being two weeks early would be enough time, but its quite the overkill. I came to see my friend's hometown (we've known each other for 15 years) and to go to a tech show in Germany then I was going to go to Argentina but I'm not sure about that yet right now.

I would leave before April or maybe mid April not sure yet either, I'm sure its just me but I do like to learn about new places, learn the history, culture, etc and see the wonders you wouldn't see anywhere else but I can't seem to go somewhere when its just me and my bubble.

I am not picky (ok well in some ways I am, but that shouldn't be a problem as its fairly minuscule especially if it means more experiences). Most who know me know that I"m not 100% easy going but I'm not totally rigid either so I can be flexible and at this point I'm a bit too flexible as its out of my hands now :P.

If you're still interested you can reply to your thread, PM me and I can provide you with some more info about me such as my facebook profile, twitter profile, and couchsurfing profile (although I don't have very much of any of my profiles at least they all have a picture of me) and if not; I respectfully wish you an awesome adventure wherever you go with your travel buddy.

So just briefly about me: I am American male 32 from Oregon with a valid passport (of course! :)). I have some mobility needs, but this is quite minor compared to other people who have much more severe mobility with limited options unlike myself; given this I am quite independent and I have no problems paying my own way.

I am currently in Switzerland (I can't wait to get out of here) going to Germany, maybe to the UK who knows??? Maybe I'll head back to the states for awhile? Either way I'd like to travel with a buddy just to ease my "travel newness"

Well I had a travel buddy and we were in the planning stages but he found a girlfriend. I'm happy for him and I hope she has the passion for travel he has. I would be so extremely happy if I found a guy with my passion for travel and adventure. Sadly, most guys my age are sitting in front of the television and gorging on fried foods digging themselves an early grave.

So, yes I am still looking for a travel buddy, male, female it does not matter just someone with a zest for life and a real sense of adventure and someone not afraid of stepping out of their comfort zone.
