Looking for the best way to travel Europe

In November 2012, I am planning to visit Europe with my family. This is first time when I will go with my family. So, I want to know about the best way to travel in group in European countries?

how big is your family?
where are you from?
does anyone want to drive?
which part of Europe?

We traveled around by the budget airlines. We flew Ryan Air and Easy Jet... definitely no frills, but super cheap. Our family of 5 flew from Paris to Rome for about $40 (pp) and Rome to Berlin for about the same. We found it cheaper than the train or anything else... maybe check their prices.
