No they don't.
They might be good, but they're far from top 10.

Agreed. I can think of 20 breaks I've surfed that are better than Punta Roca. It's good, but not great.

Just goes to show the quality of the information from a poster consumed by jealousy who is trolling me.

No, nor do I jump out of planes, drive trains nor braid horses manes however when I desire information on the above I research the subject. I may then use that research to respond to a query.
When a number of sources agree on a subject ie that El Salvador's surf beaches are in the worlds top 10, I post that fact.
You may disagree, which is your right, however I tend to give more weight to the opinion of an organization such as the ISA, which is my right.

Why do you comment on surf spots if you don't surf?
I surf, and can name breaks in Mexico, Indonesia, Nicaragua, France, and Brazil that relegate anything in El Salvador to "pretty good". Obviously this is a subjective question. At the same time, someone who does not surf cannot have a valid opinion on good surf spots.

Why do you comment on safety in San Salvador, you do not live there so you can not have a valid opinion on the safety of the city

busman don't surf. busman sits in an expat compound in a country whose language he can't even speak, and spews whiney misanthropy all over the Internet.
What a life!

I'm sorry, but blog.hotelclub and elsalvadorisawmsc are not representative of the surf community at large. surfhow.com is a website built for the sole point of serving ads and at best represents one person's opinion.
And you know what they say about wikipedia. If you have to resort to linking to wikipedia to prove your point, you don't have a point at all.
I never disputed that La Punta might be a good break, but it's a lie to say that "The surfing beaches in the La Libertad area rank in the worlds top 10." There's one well known wave and probably a few other decent waves. I'm not being negative, I'm just stating a reality.

You see this is typical of the BS Markus posts, he picks apart links used only as backup to the main one which he pretends doesn't exist.
The International Surfing Association held an International surfing competition at Punta Roca last fall but he ignores this [i]fact[i!
I don't know about anyone else but I will believe the Internationally accredited association backed up by 3 randomly chosen (of many) links over the opinions of a vindictive, mediocre Vancouver photographer & a Twin Cities lawyer who uses the lamest argument I have seen in a long time!

Dude, you're a fat, semiliterate Canadian pensioner in El Salvador. You don't speak Spanish, you don't surf, yet you think you know more about surfing in El Salvador than ... two surfers who have surfed in El Salvador.

Just because an event is hosted somewhere does not meant it's one of the world's best. Even if I were to concede that Punta Roca is one of the world's best, it still makes you initial statement that the whole area has many world class breaks false. There is one well known break in the region, and your post implies that the whole region is world class.
Try to stay with me, I know your reading comprehension is sketchy at best.
Edit: I only meant to correct a bit of busman7's over-exaggeration of a place where he just happens to own a B&B. To the original poster, I apologize for the thread derailment. To busman7, feel free to get the last word (or smilie, since you seem to find words confusing), since I know how much it means to your addled brain.
