Just use a distinctive raincover. Then whatever crap you put on it, like flagging tape, won't be too garish when you're not using it, and easy to re-apply.

Yeah I have a rain cover, good idea, I couldn't find any adhesive flagging tape but colored duck tape works good too.

My whole family used to just put our initials in duct tape on the suitcase. I think it started with my grandfather. Made our luggage easy to ID.

Yeah was talking to a friend about that, he said print up some stock cards with a name, code or even a picture and have it laminated with heavy duty laminate and punch holes and string some zip ties around the handle and the card with the holes and secure it to that (and bring extra zip ties and custom cards already punched & laminated.

If it's a suitcase, I concur and say go the bow on the handle. Geez my purple one survived countless flights in a 4 week period.

Backpack, yep, make sure no straps are hanging out and everything's neat & tucked away. You could put a bow or some novelty plastic tag on it, but I reckon they're more readily identifiable anyways, without any appendages.

Personally, nowadays, I only travel with carry-on unless packing for a long hike or something. It's SO MUCH simpler and you'd be amazed at what you can do without and not miss at all.

I found a solution:

print up some stock cards with whatever I want on it, have it laminated with punch holes with metal eye rings and then use zip ties to secure them to luggage :D. I'd love to carry carry on, but I am a four seasons traveler along with a little bit much tech so not going to happen.

I use wrapping paper ribbon. It'll stay on for YEARS if you tie it securely enough.

I just need a way to see that its my luggage (although I do have luggage ID tags too, but those are hard for me to see from a distance) so if anyone knows of where I should look or what to look for please by all means suggest away and I thank you in advance :).

A big pink ribbon tied around it.

I suppose you could choose another color, if you prefer.
