The blue and white is easy on the eyes. I can understand the need for ads, so I can live with it showing up on the threads. I specially like the banner for the travel gears blog

I go on a 4-day holiday and was pleasantly surprised with the new forum design. I like it.

Don't mind me, I'm just wandering.

Question: How much would it cost me to rent out that space in the middle of the thread to put up my "GENARO RULES!!" banner?

How come sometimes, across the top, there are ads, and sometimes, it is the "Who's Online" banner?
As for the mid-thread ads...I'll get used to them but I keep thinking it is the end of the thread. I would be really interested in seeing the click through comparisons of the different ads; I tend to skip right over them and will soon not even notice, and wonder if others do the same.

AB: Only the thread pages have the contextual adverts. So on this page, there is an contextual ad in the space where the who's online space is - on all the other's - it's who's online.
We will track the performance of the placements AB - we are interested as well.

Ok, so if I'm reading this right CPM is cost per thousand displays right? That's not bad, I mean... less than a penny per display.
This $5000 campaign minimum- is that the minimum advertising package you need to buy?! Holy jesus. Or is this some fancy lingo in the advertising world for something complicated?
On targeting, I notice you have time targeting and geo-targeting... is there any option for, say, "static targeting" or "captain steve targeting"? I'd go for that.
I'm just messing around of course, but if I had a blog I'd seriously consider dumping 25 bucks on a couple thousand ad displays, just for giggles.

Weird, Sean, because right now across the top of the page is who's online.
Sean
Look now.
- it was just this thread that it was happening to.
anniebanannie
Now there's nothing in that space.
Sean
How about now? - could be a temp cache issue as well.
Stoo
OK, the black text on loud purple for the form text input on profile edit page must go. That is just plain scary!!!

Stoo, they are aware of the neon purple and are working on from what I hear. As soon as their temporary blindness also subsides.

And Stoo's avatar isn't scary??
I changed the profile required fields yesterday so they're now more of a bright red than nasty neon.

I've changed computers from yesterday, so don't know whether it is just this one, but if it's now shades of grey for the main pages rather than that baby blue!
Yes, that looks 100% better
And I would not worry on all the rest of the whinges on stuff that people will get used to.

I'm too lazy to read the rest of what must be a long list "constructive criticisms," but my two complaints are that the forum pages are too wide, and when scroling through the forums you can't see who's on the boards, at least I can't.
Whine.

What is your screen resolution, Spiral? The boards are optimized for 1024 wide monitors.
Who's online is either at the top of the page (if you're about to click into a thread page) or in the right side column (if you're on a thread page).
