New Orleans for Halloween

Plan your road trip with must-see recommendations. Information on the beaches of the Yucatan to the tundras of Yukon and everywhere in between: Mexico, USA and Canada.

I had an amazing time! Frenchman Street was wild fun on Halloween night, but my boyfriend and I only enjoyed it in a half-assed way (our favourite part was just standing at the sidelines and watching all the costumes go by - and tkaing pictures!), and went home early... but only because we had both been terribly hungover all day because we had gone to the Vampire Lestat Fan Club's Annual Ball the night before.

That was amazing, even though I am not a fan of Anne Rice at all (I AM a fan of True Blood and Charlaine Harris, so I was lucky it was True Blood-themed and Charlaine was the guest of honour this year!). It was pretty much the best Halloween party I could have dreamt up. Everyone really into their costumes, a very cool club venue, a ridiculous goth rock band. Yep.

I also really enjoyed taking a cemetery tour to increase the creep factor (plus, the cemeteries are amazing on their own), in the days leading up to Halloween.
