By March 5th 2008 I will be going to Romania to start the next part of my Expat life. Would love to hear from anyone doing or getting ready to not just travel abroad but to live abroad.

A good friend of mine lives in Cluj. A nice city that draws a large number of expats, and a pleasant alternative to Bucharest. If you haven't yet decided where to set up shop, that might be a good place to start.

Thanks for the great input. I will be going to Bucharest initially. My friend has a place there and I can stay for free. I will definitely check out the other cities and towns. Do you have any "Not to Miss" things I should do before skipping off to somewhere else?
