I have an interview in New York in February and need to either find a place to stay overnight so I can take the train, or need to get a return flight on the same day. Given it's New York in February (the 6th, to be precise), what are your recommendations?

Broadway Hostel- nice staff, clean, good location off of Broadway, handy to the metro

New York International Hostel. They have their own deli/snack bar for a job seeker on the go, prices as good as anywhere else or better, and helpful staff. Showers are a bit, well, oldfashioned and very dormitory like, but you can't have everything. At least the stalls have an area to undress in, which is better than most.

I'd recommend both. There was one handier to public transport I wanted to stay in, but they closed down a few nights before I was due to arrive. Thank goodness I booked through Hostelworld, or I would never have been notified in time to find the Broadway Hostel.

You can try looking for discount coupons. As we all know, getting a hotel/motel room in New York is seriously expensive. So if you decide to book in a hotel/motel, ask the reception or check their websites if they give out promos. I've heard that some hotels give out discount coupons to attract more customers to stay in their hotels. I suggest you try looking for coupons on-line!

People generally think of New York as an expensive city. Well, not everything in New York is that expensive if you are a wise spender and resourceful enough. If you need a cheap accommodation, try looking for motels. These motels give away free coupons for you to get big discounts. The lowest discount you can get for room rates is 10%. It's a good money saver if you come to think of it.

Search for motel coupons http://motelcoupons.org/ in the internet to find out more about the discounts you can get when you're in New York.
