hi everyone I'm new to the forums and am looking for tips and advice on a trip around the middle east and Asia which i plan on going on after i graduate from collage in a few years.

first off I'm from Ireland and plan on going first to Venice in Italy then by plane or ship to Israel after that try some how to get to eastern china and see the silk road and mountains, make my way across china to Beijing and then down along the coast to Hong Kong get a ship to Vietnam then another boat to Singapore and another boat to India, make my way up the country and get a plane or something to Iran then travel through turkey to Istanbul, a plane to Athens and then back to Italy and finally back home.

any advice or suggestions on a different route or anything are appreciated

thanks in advance

Seems doable...the only thing that stands out is visiting Iran after Israel. I'm fairly sure the Iranians won't grant you a visa if you have visited Israel first.

You should also be sure to check out the south east asia countries while your their...I wouldn't go straight to Singapore...check out cambodia, thailand, laos, vietnam while your in the area.

Also....I wouldn't worry about a boat from Singapore to India. Head to Kuala Lumpur and get a cheap Air Asia flight from KL to Kolkata, India. From there you can use India's vast train network to cover ground.

some other things I'm not certain on as well such as getting a visa for china, i hear its best got in Hong Kong rather the somewhere else as you have 90 days or something to go to china after getting it and id rather stick around for a while in the first places i visit

another thing how far dose the euro go in Asia like how much would i need to travel along Asia for several months and how would i get from say Italy to the middle east and then to western china, any suggestion on travel

Be careful about that Chinese Visa. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they did away with allowing anyone to apply for a Chinese visa in Hong Kong. They were getting too many people. This may have changed though. When I was doing my research and the correspondance I had with the consulates and travel agencies, you cannot apply for a chinese visa anywhere except in your country of residence.

I'm hoping that all changes though.
