tour of the Palestinian Territory in West Bank

Postby braxtozene » October 10th, 2007

I want to do a day tour to the Palestinian Territory in the West Bank. Lonely Planet lists some organizations that they recommend, but all of these organizations either no longer exist, do not offer day trips, or only do religious tours (which is not really what I'm interested in (though it would be interesting to see Bethlehem)).

I'm usually a fairly independent traveler but I think I'd prefer to do this as a tour or with a guide because my time in Israel is short and I admit to being relatively ignorant about the situation (which is exactly why I want to go there and learn about it).

What advice do any of you have about seeing the Palestinian Territory, and tours or guides to take me there?

Is there anyone on this board who is in the area right now that is very experienced in the area and feels qualified to be my guide? (I'm looking to go Friday or Saturday this week.)

You may want to send a PM to SuzTours She's based in Jerusalem and I believe she works with tour companies. She may be able to get you going in the right direction.

Hope that helps!

Check out www.westbanktours.com

I was in Nablus about four weeks ago and met one of the guys who runs this show. Definately the people that you want to be traveling with in the West Bank! They should be able to organize anything that you need.
