Hi Gianti,
I did just get some info from a gal I met in Portland, Oregan. She is a buyer for a shop there that is all Balinese and Chinese artifacts, furniture, antiques. I think it is Lotus Antiques, in the Pearl District. I am not sure of the places she buys from, but she did pass on a great place to stay in Ubud, where she stays. so, maybe she gets most from Ubud.
the place she stays is Alum Indah. website: www.alumindahbali.com We are going in late Dec. and staying there. They are picking us up at the airport, as well. I am going for cooking classes, not furniture. But, do check out the website. They have been so wonderful to us.

Take a drive along Jl Raya Kerobokan. THe street has many furniture places. Also go down the road next ot the jail in Kerobokan, keep heading towards the Sunset Rd / Jl. Kunti. More furniture places, and will be cheaper than fancy shops.

Along Jl. Oberoi in Seminyak, you'll find fancy interior design places you might like.

Hi Ginanti

Some good choices there from Nick.

Are you taking the furniture abroad? If so be careful. a good investment is a Moisture Metre (I recomend Wagner Electronics - about $200). This can save you a fortune!

Check the workmanship inside and out. Look underneath, inspect everything. If the sales staff don't like this, walk away. always remember until you buy it's your money. After you buy it's their money and your furniture - so be sure about what you are getting.

Oh and always remember cheap is cheap for a reason but expensive does not mean anything.

Thats all I'm giving away for free!!!

In Bali for Xmas and New Year and can't wait.

OK so you are not going to buy from me! Can't believe that! I have a factory no more than an 1 hour from Jakarta.

Drop me an e-mail and I might let you know a few reliable quality suppliers in Bali.
