Has anyone climbed Mt. Meru? Any thoughts or experiences you'd like to share? It's something I've started thinking about only recently. I read that the climb takes three days and the peak is less than 15,000 feet. I'm just looking for some first-hand info right now... was it easy? difficult? technical? worth it?
Thanks in advance!

Ah yes Donovan. I remember all of that quite fondly
I swear, I started thinking about Meru just days ago. And that's the exact stage I'm at right now: thinking about it.

Hey Freesia - I did a day hike up to the first camp on Meru to get some exercise before my Kili climb. That first camp is easy. We had to have an armed park ranger with us because of the killer water buffalo and wart hogs, and in the montane forest we came across a green mambo snake, who is apparently just as poisonous as it's relative. So, regarding Mt. Meru, it was dangerous because of the animals
- oh, and I got a grasshopper up my pants. He unfortunately perished.
