It's t-shirt makin' time!

Postby AmazingJulesVerne » April 28th, 2008

We need some new t-shirts around here. Something that shows the world just how cool it is to be part of BnA. Something that will impress folks from Borneo to Bahrain. Something that will help the fashion challenged among us.

Announcing the Most Awesome BootsnAll T-Shirt Design Contest EVER!

  • The contest is open from April 28 - May 18, 2008, at 11:59 pm Pacific Time.

  • Designs will only be accepted from registered BnA members.

  • To be considered for the contest, all submissions that include graphics must be in a .jpg format and emailed to jules at bootsnall dot com by the deadline. Since these designs are for t-shirts, we need to keep them simple, technically. Please keep your design to four colors, and avoid gradients, transparent layers, and the like. Post up your design in this thread as well if you wish, but don't forget to email it for "official" consideration. Multiple entries are welcome.

  • Designs can include graphics as well as sayings/slogans. However, all work must be original; no use of copyrighted material. Designs must be free from obscenities and themes/material that make us uneasy.

  • The winning design and artwork becomes the exclusive property of BootsnAll. The designers shall grant a worldwide perpetual license of their designs and artwork to BootsnAll for use in all promotional efforts in all media now known or to be created in the future.

  • After the close of the contest, submissions will be available for viewing and voting by the BnA Community. The top five selected designs will be declared winners and made available for purchase in our Brand New BnA T-Shirt Shoppe.

The Prize

Creators of selected designs will receive one free shirt as a prize, as well as the pride, glory and bragging rights of having their designs available for purchase in our Brand New BnA T-shirt Shoppe, which will be opening soon.

So, I've been thinking about this...and have some questions:

1) Is "F*** You! I'm a Patriot!" copyrighted or qualify as "Designs must be free from obscenities and themes/material that make us uneasy"?
2) Can we use pictures of boots? (And I don't mean footwear.)

I'm working on my little design now, but need more "creative time". Razz Should be something along the lines of "If Joey can hookup on boots-n-all, then you can too!"

1) That is certainly within the boundaries. Ask youself this question: Would I wear this shirt? How likely is it that others would, too?

2) Do you mean photos of BnA members? They would need to give you permission. Would the picture be something that you had drawn? In that case, no permission is needed.

What? No 'tiger penis' references? Wink

I just wanted to say that this sounds like a fun contest. Smile I'm sure there are plenty of nerdy graphic design types among us to make some interesting entries. Can't wait to see the winner.

AJV, if you posted about it in a bunch of the forums I bet you would have gotten entries... I wouldn't have found it unless I (accidentally) came into this forum. I want a winner!!

Look at this way... it's better to have Zero entries than one or two bad ones that you would have had to pick a winner from... Shrug
