me and some friends are thinking about road tripping down to san felipe in baja california for spring break in march. anyone know anything about it there?

weather, is it warm or hot in march?
camping, i saw online that there are formal camp sites but can we drive down the coast and camp on the beach for free?
scene, does it get crazy during spring break season, or stay mellow?
prices, is it over priced for tourists?
safety can me and just my girlfriends go or should we bring some guys along for protection?

got a better location than san felipe that is driving distance from the US?
