My daughter and a friend are planning on bumming around Scotland in July. I'm trying to POSSIBLY forecast a trend so I can know if now is the time to pull the trigger on tix. I've seen the tickets creep up so I'm sort of leaning heavily towards a purchase in the next few days.
ANY advices is greatly appreciated.
TIA
Mitch
Any ideas on air fare?

Re: Any ideas on air fare?
Have you seen Farecast? See if your departure city is in the 'Airfare prediction Cities' list. If so you'll be able to see a trend of ticket prices.
You can also use CheapTicketLinks to search many different sources at once.

Another idea is to somehow get to the continent, and then make use of a cheap flight with RyanAir, EasyJet, or the like. Where would they be coming from? That's pretty much right in the middle of high season, though, so I wouldn't hope for amazing deals...

See if you can fly into Manchester rather than Scotland and take the train north. If you must fly into Scotland, generally Glasgow is the cheaper of the two cities due to volume. They're only 45 min apart by train, so it really doesn't matter which you fly into.
It will be high season, so make reservations.

Thanks for all the replies. I mis-typed the top message. I'm going as well, there will be 3 of us. We are planning on renting a car for the two weeks so we can have freedom of movement. So far our tix thru atiflights are $2300-/+. I'll look into fare cast. I'm leery about some agencies like cheapair. They post a LOW price then they zip you on the "taxes". Live and learn I guess.

Where are you flying from, by the way? Have you tried playing around with http://www.kayak.com yet? Sign up for a free account and you can search multiple days at once. And the prices they list INCLUDE taxes! Man that irritates me when companies don't include the fees and taxes in their "amazing deals"!

I'll be leaving from Nashville, and my buddy will be leaving from Detroit. We are trying to meet up in Detroit. He is actually coming from Traverse Cit Mi.
I found that travelocity is the best so far. I've saved $300 off the ATIflights price.

I scored two tixs on travelocity for $2023. I was able to save $300 off my other lowest price. We will even be able to meet my buddy in Detroit on the way out. I just hope KLM is a decent airline.
