Hi, Im trying to plan a trip up Kili in July. People are telling me that it will be significantly colder. I know its going to be cold but does anyone have information on what the temperatures are like in July vs. other months?
Thanks,

Re: Kili Temps in July?
Kili is a little south of the equator, so you will experience some measure of the Southern Hemisphere winter at this time, but not appreciably so, so don't worry too much about that. Summit temperatures during the alpine summit are are critically cold, so cover yourself for temperatures of perhaps 20 below Celsius, but this is only for a few hours, and once the sun rises at the summit you will be stripping off layers.

Re: Kili Temps in July?
I climbed Kili last year the first week of August, and seriously the temperature is nothing to worry about. I did a 6 day climb. The first 4 nights were chilly but nothing extreme. We rented winter clothing and equipment from a little shop in Moshi and seriously only got it out the morning we summited. That last night/day was freezing, but again its nothing that (cheap) winter clothing can't handle. Plus its all part of the experience. As soon as the sun comes up you are fine. Any other questions on it please don't hesitate. Have a great time. KILL THE KIL!
