Dengue Fever in Eastern Guatemala

Postby juan3 » August 17th, 2009

Over the past few months there have been 10 deaths from Hemorrhagic Dengue Fever in the Livingston, Guatemala area.

This is merely a heads up to be sure to use insect repellent and mosquito nets when in the area. Most of the deaths I have read about were among infants and very young children. With most adults it only lasts about a week, is very uncomfortable, but in most cases is no more life threatening than the flu.
