Hi all!
I'm a 25 year old Icelandic female living in Denmark.

I'm looking for a travel buddy, male or female, round about my age, for a trip to anywhere exotic for one month in January next year.

When travelling:
- I love to do exploring, not just stay in one place.
- I love adventure travel, such as kayaking, diving, river rafting, horse riding, jungle trips etc.
- I'm not much of a hiker, but shorter hikes (2 days +/- not "too" strenous) are perfect.
- I'm OK with camping and hitch-hiking, but it's not a requirement.
- I enjoy very much going out, but again, it's not a requirement.
- I only want to take in ONE country in this month. I've learnt it leaves more memories.

Country suggestions (in no specific order):
Ecuador, Cuba, Mexico, Ghana, Egypt, Namibia, Ethiopia, India, Nepal, Myanmar, China, Philippines, Malaysia, Laos, Indonesia. - List is however extremely open!!!

I would totally recommend Namibia. My buddy just got back and had a crazy time. Plus the language barrier isn't TOO bad.... not as bad as some of the other places you listed.

Anyway, maybe it is just me, but it is number one on my list at the moment. Check out some of his top 10 things to do there.

i'm going back to SA for Carnaval in Feb'10 but trying to make it more extensive into other countries; don't know about January but we'll see

How about Guatemala?

My plan is to study spanish in the a.m. and explore in the PM and take hikes and 2day side trips on weekends.

From the looks of my sched I can only go from Jan 3 to 24/25th

A friend and I (29 and 30) are going to Peru for the whole month of January. Getting into Cusco on the 29th and doing new year's eve there and then doing the Inca trail/Machu Picchu a few days after that. I'm not much of a hiker either but am making an exception for the Inca trail (trying to get in shape now)

Other than that, our itinerary is pretty open, though I'd definitely like to see the Nazca lines and do some whitewater rafting during the trip. I agree with you that with just one month sticking to one country is the way to go.
