Flying out of Lima, Peru

Figure out the best way to get from Central to South America, when you should book your accommodations for Carnaval and local language school recommendations. If it's on South America, it's in this forum.

Flying out of Lima, Peru

Postby darttt » October 10th, 2009

Hi, I have about 30 days for a trip to Peru and Bolivia.....I was thinking I would do mostly bus trips until I realized how many hours I would be on a bus.....so am thinking maybe I should invest the money, fly to Cochabamba or Sucre, and then work my way backward.......does anyone know if I can just book a flight once I get to the Lima airport? Or should I make reservations first? Has anyone stayed in the Familia Rodriguez Hostal in Lima?
Ay....thanks for any suggestions!

If you plan on spending time in LIM you could risk buying it there. However it is always advisable booking it in advance.

We bought our in-country tickets in advance through the LAN site in Spanish the price was 1/2 & it was lower than what we found when we asked at a travel agency in Lima. Note you have to use a secure Visa. A visa that has been verified. Remember to reserve the seats if you can that way they have to reserve your seat. Enjoy Peru & the lake Titicaca area.

30 days for southerns Peru and Bolivia are fine.
Bus travel is the recommended way to travel. Night busses save your time and expenses on accommodation.
In 30 days you can visit all the major sites in southern Peru, Bolivia, a bit of northern Chile and back to Peru.
