NUSA DUA OR JIMBARAN

Postby justmarried » June 6th, 2006

Hi to all,

Wr're planning our honeymoon to Bali on september, at this moment we have two different booking at hotels in the above parts of bali.
The first one is in the hotel melia in nusa dua and the other one is in the intercontinental hotel in jimbaran.

Does somebody know what hotel is better, or what area is more atractive?

Any commentary about these hotels or areas will be helpful for us.

Thanks in advance and best regards

hope see you on september

Hi There
The areas you have chosen and the hotels are very comparable. They are both upmarket hotels in the more select areas of Bali.It is much quieter in jimbaran and Nusa Dua than it is in say Kuta ,Legian or seminyak.
Why don't you split your stay between both hotels and savour both--x night in one then x nights in the other. No matter what you decide you will find it easy to get around Bali and experience all it has to offer.Just hire a driver and he will take you where you want to go--About 200,000 rp for half day tour and 350,000 to 400,000 for full day.
Congratulatuions to you and hope your honeymoon is really special
Cheers Laurs

Dear happy couple...
September in Bali is bit wet, almost everyday partly rain but still beautiful to enjoy it!

Its depend what is creteria of atractive for you:
Jimbaran, bit far from shops but makes more romatic?
Nusa Dua area are more shops (also more expensive to enjoy it).

Both place is far from major destination, hire driver and make-up your own trip will create more attrative trip than just stuck on souvenir shop that absolutly include on every normal tour package!

have a great trip

Hi there!
True abt Jimbaran n Nusa Dua (i like Nusa Dua better tho). Some people say that Ubud is also a romantic place for homeymooners with its villages and rice fields. U'll he able to spend quality time with ur hub/wife. Singaraja (Lovina beach) and Nusa Penida or Nusa Lembongan are also great places. You can look up on internet for good hotels. I usually book trhough Experience Bali (www.experiencebali.com) as the have a great range (and price) of hotels and such (tours, etc.)
Anyway, Kuta is a place I recommend u if u wanna shop, meet people, and enjoy Bali's nightlife. I love this area so much that I go there every 6 months or so.

Have a great honeymoon, guys!

Both hotels are good quality. Which one you choose depends on the type of time you want to have. Nusa Dua is a string of resorts. It is 30 minutes from Kuta. Jimbaran is halfway. Both places have beaches.

Jimbaran is more traditional, but for nightlife you'll still have take a taxi to Kuta / Semyinyak.

As said above, Ubud is a lovely area, great hotels / spas, with a village feel, very romantic.

Seminyak is a handy place too, with good hotels (Resor Seminyak, Oberoi etc), plus private villas, all close to the beach, restaurants, beach bars and nightlife.

We're booked into the Melia in Nusa Dua for our honeymoon, arriving 10th November. Anyone else stayed there before?
