Hi everyone! My friend and I will be spending a week in Puerto Rico next month. We will be spending 3 days in San Juan and 4 days in Vieques. I'm not a big fan of lying on the beach all day, I like to meet locals and experience the culture of the place I'm visiting. I also like to stay really active.

With all of that said, I was wondering if anyone could recommend any great, less touristy restaurants to eat at or really any place to go/things to do? I think most of our time in Vieques will be spent horseback riding, going to the bio bay, snorkelling, etc. but I'd like to see if anyone else had any suggestions? Also, we don't have very much planned for San Juan. We will be in both San Juan and Old San Juan.

One more question...does anyone know of a SNUBA company either in San Juan or Vieques? This is something I've always wanted to do (I'm not certified to scuba dive...yet), and I haven't been able to find much online yet. Is the snorkelling very good in Puerto Rico? I am considering getting an underwater case for my camera, but if it isn't great then I will pass. So far I've snorkelled in the Red Sea and in Hawaii.

Thanks for your time!!
