For all those folks out there that have done an extended multi-stop trip, or are in the planning stages of one, we'd love to hear from you in the form of an RTW traveller profile.

See some examples of how yours might look: Adam, Olivia, Diana

To get started, fill out this form.
To add a map of your trip (completed or planning), visit Indie, enter your trip and use the 'embed' link to paste the trip in the "View Trip Itinerary" box of your profile.

Lastly, these profiles are in their infancy. We'll be adding more features and incorporating them in more areas of BootsnAll in the coming months. Jump in early and join us for the ride!

If you have any questions, feedback, or run into any problems along the way, reply to this thread and we'll be able to help you out.

As much information you can provide about your trip, and how exactly Indie is not working for you will help us figure out where things may be going wrong.

Any chance of adding *family* to the "I travelled as a" category?

To keep it simple, I was trying to input just my RTW flights, which are separated by overland segments. It accepted the first one LHR-OSL but the second NRT-DEL it wouldn't recognize either NRT or Tokyo.

Actually the map of flights only doesn't show my whole trip as I traveled by rail from Oslo to Vladivostok then ferry to South Korea & Japan where I got my second flight.

Not sure how you would want that entered?

Hi busman7, I went ahead and entered your trip for you since I was already familiar with it from our talks about RTW flights. Since yours was so large and somewhat complicated, I'm guessing that's why you were having some issues. I had issues with Narita as well, but I was able find Tokyo. We haven't published it yet because the photo is showing up a bit weird, so I'm trying to get with our tech team to get that fixed.

As Chris said, this whole feature is very new and we're in the testing stages, so things are going to pop up. But thanks for submitting one, and I'll be on here to let you know when it publishes and to provide a link.

Thanks again!

Great idea. I just suggested that idea, and we will definitely make that addition. I can either let you know when the changes have been made, or you can fill out the profile for now and I can change the status to "family" when we get the new option added.

Thanks, and if you have any more questions/suggestions, don't hesitate to ask.

Hi Adam, I had very slow internet yesterday & when the photo hadn't shown up after 5 minutes, I exited the sight. I can submit another if you can't resolve the problems with that one.

Thanks for filling in the itinerary for me

No problem, Dave. I actually got it all fixed and your is up. Looks great. We're going to be adding features to it, like interviews, so when we do, I'll definitely let you know. Thanks again for helping out. Here's a link to your profile.

Some quick feedback: need some additional values in the "When did you go on your RTW trip?" for those of us in the planning stages (or, just make this field not required for those that select "Pre-Trip" - in fact, might want to have a slightly different set of fields for Pre-Trip to find out what info they are most looking to learn about, what countries they are hoping to visit, etc.).

Thanks :)

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, I agree, it would be good to have different questions based on whether one was planning a trip or had already completed one.

What I've always thought would be beneficial would be to allow for people to tick off each country they had been to and ideally with the year in which they last traveled there. Then make that information filterable such that if someone was interested in a particular country they could quickly filter on the country and get a list of travelers in which to connect with. And even beyond that could also filter by travel style, age, gender, solo/family, etc. which are information already included in the profile information.

For instance, I've long desired to travel to Cameroon/Nigeria. There isn't too much activity on the boards for these countries, but that is not to say someone hasn't been there and a travel profile with that information would be a quick way to sort that out.

I know, I know.....maybe I should put in my own profile before I start making suggestions.

Thanks halfnine! We are gathering all the feedback from people to make these the best we can, and that's a great idea. Keep 'em coming everyone!

Wouldn't allow me to enter No favourite Country or city, do you want the truth or not!!

Wouldn't allow me to save an incomplete form!!
