Hi there,
We will be travelling thought Eastern Europe as part of our RTW trip for about 6 weeks and am wondering if we will need sleeping bags. Mostly going to try and stay in Double rooms (as is our honeymoon), but would like to check out the chata mountain huts in the areas. Does anyone know if these supply bedding?
thanks
mel

Sleeping bag needed for Eastern Europe?

I don't think it's worth oversizing your luggage. Everywhere bed linen are provided. Not 100% sure about mountain huts, but, if not, you can always rent rent a sleeping bag.
Btw - chata is Polish for hut (pron. hut-ah).

Thanks, I would have pronounced it all wrong.

The vast majority of mountain huts (at least in Poland and Slovakia) provide bed linnen. At Morskie Oko they have cheaper dorms where you need your own sleeping bag in the "old hut", but linnen is provided in the somewhat more expensive "new hut". And e.g. Chata pod Rysmi on the Slovak side of Mt. Rysy only has 14 beds, so if it's full in summer (high season is from july to early september) you might need a sleeping bag to sleep on the floor/benches downstairs.
