There should be a setting in your profile on the boards that allows you to choose which theme you'd like to see the boards in. Open your profile (Your Profile Admin link near breadcrumbs), then click on 'boards preferences' and then 'my boards style'. Sounds like you might have the prosilver theme selected. Change it to bootsnall-2011 and save your profile and you should see things in a more inviting and loving way.
