Some of the online ads in forums

Postby Eppyboy » October 24th, 2007

I know this is really, really, really petty, but I like to click on the ads above the threads from time to time (often I find them extremely helpful and interesting), well one in particular might be a "dead link."

Circletheplanet.com

I actually filled in the form correctly, because I wanted to get a quote on a ticket and an error message popped up. I tried it twice...I am not sure what is wrong, the initial link from the ad works, and I am assuming they are a functional company as they are advertising, but I thought I would let you know (in case boots gets a cut from people who click the link through boots and actually make a purchase).

Hi Josh,

The ads that look like text ads are done by Google and they're self-serve for the advertiser. It's out of our hands to try and fix it.

Buy you clicking on the ads you think are relevant for you, you ARE helping BnA - whether you buy something or not even when we don't have any relationship with the advertisers directly.

Thanks for thinking of us on this and when you book your travel - we really appreciate it.

I just want to clarify my above statement:

quote:

What I mean by this, is if you find our advertiser's offering relevant - whether it's a banner ad, a google text ad or whatever - and if you visit their site and/or purchase from them it just helps show advertisers that BnA is a credible place to advertise and we can get credible advertisers. That's what helps us.

What I'm NOT trying to say is "click on the ads" just because that might help us.

I have found at least one more online ad link that doesn't work...If clicks help you out, surely dead links that come up with errors and don't let you access the web page won't.

Not much we can do on this one, really - it's 100% up to the advertiser and we don't even have the contact on who to try to sort it out with.

Thanks for your good intentions though. Smile
