Palermo or Palermo Viejo or Recoleta?
I'm planning a two-week trip to Bs.As. I'll be taking several hours of private Spanish classes during the day. What area would you recommend I stay in, and why? (single guy in 30s). What are the differences between the areas? It would be nice to be within walking distance of bars, restaurants, cafes, shopping etc.
Also, do you have a specific hotel you would recommend in that area, or would I be better off renting a short-term furnished apartment for two weeks?
Actually, I wouldn't mind sharing a flat with one or more Argentines, if I could have my own room. That way I could meet natives and practice Spanish. Any idea how to go about finding this type of set-up?
Lastly, do you have any recommendations on good Spanish tutors or schools in the area? I'm still researching this one.

Hola,
Going by what you said I would strongly recommend staying somewhere in Palermo Hollywood. It's has a cranking nightlife, lots of resturaunts and generally just a great vibe. Try to get something close to calle Sante fe so that way you will be close to the subte.

I was just talking to someone else the other day and he recommended I stay in Palermo Viejo, near one of the two plazas. He said that is where all the action is. You still say Palermo Hollywood would be better?

Hola,
Yep staying in Palermo veijo is great too. Plaza Serrano is a lot of fun. It doesn't really matter if you stay in hollywood or veijo cause they are both wihtin walking distance of each other more or less. The night life is spread across hollywood and veijo.
Whether u stay in hollywood or veijo, just make sure your close to calle Sante Fe so you won't have far to walk for the subway (D line).

Thanks for the tips. Now that I've got the area down, any place in particular that you would recommend? I'll probably be going for around two weeks. My Spanish is poor but improving daily. If I keep studying, hopefully I'll be somewhat conversational by the time of the trip (the trip won't be for a while). I guess the goal would be to meet Argentines and not speak too much English.
I can just search for hotels in that area, but I was wondering if you had a particular place (hotel etc.) in mind that I should look into.
