Hi, we are planning our round the world trip begining in April next year. We wanted to start from either Victoria falls or zanzibar traveling between each destination. I cannot find a easy way to get between these places. Flights are extremely expensive and the bus takes many days. Can anyone advise the best way to travel from Victoria falls to tanzania?

Can't help you with Victoria falls, but I thought you might find this website helpful about traveling to/from Zanzibar: http://www.zanzibar.cc/travel.htm. There's a regular flight from Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar that takes about 20 minutes for around $55 per person one way. Or there are less expensive ferries ranging from $25-$40. I highly recommend visiting Zanzibar. It's a beautiful tropical island and a safer place to travel than the mainland.
