Teaching and living in Bali

Hello,

I have an interview on Thursday with Englishtown Bali to teach English. I read posts on other forums about the pay not being that great depending on if you were on a contract or working illegally but those posts were from 2007-2009. Has anyone worked here recently that can give some insight on this place? What the pay is actually like? What the housing allowance is? I work as a freelance writer so I would have supplemental income while in Bali but don't want to move all the way there if the pay is too low for the amount of hours you're expected to work.

For those living in Bali or have lived there - what can I expect to pay for accommodations in bali? what is 'average'?
