Thailand/Cambodia... BNA meet up sept/oct/nov 05

Figure out the best place to stay on Khao San Road in Bangkok and where to escape when you've had enough of the mayhem. From Singapore Slings to the changes in Bejing after the 2008 Olympics, gab about it all here.

Nope, I'm off by myself. I'd be glad to grab a beer. I wouldn't be too worried about finding fellow travelers, it will be harder to get away from them than find them at a lot of points I think.

ps: the damage in Chiang Mai is limited to quite a small area.. the rest of the town is completely unscathed. (although it is raining again today...)

Excellent, this BnA meet is looking promising Smile

Although there is a flaw; few of us have ever been to Bangkok so deciding on a location to meet could be challenging.

Can anyone suggest somewhere nice?

From Bangkok me and Tigeress will head East, eventually getting ourselves to Angor Wat then beyond. We will be in Bangkok for at least 4 days (we have hotels booked), possibly more; but will depend how we cope in such a frantic environment Wink

Brett,

The top left of this map shows our hotel for the first two nights, then we're in China Town at the Grand China Princess (thank you Mr and Mrs Tigeress Big Grin ). So where's this compared to you? I'll have to get the map out again (and that will have to wait until I get home).

Being you'll have the advantage it sounds like a good idea if you choose the spot where to meet, we'll keep an eye on this thread before we leave and when we arrive if need be. I imagine we'll sleep the first day, but you never know!

Anyone else out there? Possibly six of us so far Smile not bad in a days work Brett! Good man.
