Hi

Climbing the mast at Macau Tower looks pretty spectacular. If I ever get to Macau I will certainly look into that :-)

I am blessed that I have already done many things I wanted to do (Macchu Pichu, Angkor Wat, pyrimids, most great museums in the world..etc), But I still want to:

1. Visit Ethiopia
2. Visit India (including the overrated Taj Mahal)
3. Visit the overrated Antarctica.
4. Three islands I especially want to visit: Iceland, Cuba, and Easter Island.
5. Last but not least...travel overland from Hong Kong to London, and visit several countries I want to see but haven't, including those -Stans in Central Asia, Iran and the Caucasus. Well, I am saving money for that....

Yes, also an "overrated Brazilian" too!! Roll Eyes
Mmmm ...I realize I've done that already! Big Grin Rock Out

In stream-of-consciousness order, not priority:

Galapagos Islands -- Those eco-tours are just soooo pricey

Easter Island -- Perhaps this is the new Stonehenge, given how many lists it's on.

Sail the Seychelles-- missed an opportunity last year

South Africa -- diamond mines, wildlife, racial divides, the southern tip of the continent...

Scotland -- ancestral roots and single malts

Ireland -- ditto, and dark beers

Sail the Adriatic -- this is likely in the next 18 months

Jost van Dyke for New Year's Eve -- supposed to be one of the best parties in the world. I've been there on normal evenings and it's pretty hoppin' so...

Morocco -- inspired, I think, more by the Indiana Jones movies than Casablanca.

Egypt -- want to explore pyramids and tombs -- as much as the tourists are allowed.

Cape Horn -- one of the ultimate sailor's destinations (or places to avoid hitting, if you like)

Sakhalin, Kamchatka Peninsula,

That is a serious (and expensive) undertaking. I had a look into it while in Russia - and I simply couldn't afford it. If you ever make it there, I want to hear EVERYTHING about it.

Oh yeah. If you can time it so that you can watch the Superclassico, you will not be disappointed.

Sakhalin is more assessable than the Kamchatka Peninsula.
There are direct flights from Sapporo and Hakodate in Hokkaido, Japan to Korsakov in Sakhalin. From my initial research, there might have a chartered flight from Narita airport to Sakhalin. Perhaps, the ferry service from Wakkanai in Hokkaido Island is more fun and economical. The journey takes six hours and thirty minutes and costs JY30,000 single, JY45,000 return. It departs twice weekly from late April to early September between Wakkanai and Korsakov sailing across the Soya Strait and the Sea of Okhotsk.
Package/guided tour may be more suitable to tour the Kamchtka peninsula. There are quite a few offers from Alaska and Canada. I am still exploring this option.
