I did forget to add one thing to SPAM.
TABASCO

I heard a rumor that you give a bottle of hot sauce to a muslim, and you have a friend for life!!! Smile

Of course, for the price of a can of Spam you could buy a nice, complete meal in most of Southeast Asia.

I also don't think you'd have need of Tabasco in Thailand. They manage to make theirs spicy enough.Smile It's not a bad idea for other parts of the world though.

Only good thing about Spam is that the little key thingy on the can (do they even still have those?) will fit in the hole that opens the bathroom door after a drunken friend has locked themselves in and passed out on the floor. -mutter-

Ultimate travel food? Chocolate.

The coolest necklace I ever saw was on this stompy littl Goth grrrl. It was one of those old army can openers...the kind that takes up about the same amount of room as a US quarter. It even had a hole already in it. My point? I've always been cool with eating things out of the can. I mean straight out of the can, very commando, ya know? So I decided to try an experiment the other day. I'm gonna only eat things out of cans for as long as I 'can' handle it and see how far I 'can' get before I snap and order a pizza. Luckily for me, I like beer in a can...
P.S.
Did you know that SPAM is cooked in the can? Neat hunh?

You wanna see something really crazy -- go to www.spam.com and check out the products. You can get turkey spam, garlic spam, hickory smoked spam -- all those delicious spam flavors you've always dreamed about but never realized existed. It takes one's love of pork shoulder food products to a whole new level.

Hey Weather Witch,
Those things cost like $0.38 each and are WAY handy - once you get the hang of using one they pop off tops quick. Good for anything you need fingernails for too (coming from a horrible nail bitter...).
When you have to hump your pack you try to pack light which means ditching the purdy dishes - I love eating out of the can ; )
Oh by the way - best travel food - corned beef hash in my book!! The breakfast variety has LOTS of potatos for a quick starch, plenty of protein and it's already cooked so you can spoon it right out of the can.

Becky.

I like raisins for traveling. They are cheap, small, last a long time, and have lots of fiber.
