The weather in Puerto Viejo in Late May?

Hello all.. Was wondering if anyone knew what the weather would usually be like.. (I know of course anything could happen) on the southern Caribbean side of Costa Rica in late May(May 25-June 4th) ? I know its the start of the winter season and that the Caribbean side obviously gets more rain. But was just curious if that should deter us if we are primarily going for the beaches.
